Organic Master Gardener

Colleen Tanner’s career in horticulture started at an early age. She has 20+ years of work experience in commercial landscaping, landscape design and managing a retail nursery and garden centre. She owns a small business called Seasonlscapes which specializes in custom designed seasonal containers including the ever popular winterscaped designs that add a 4th season to our Canadian gardens. She was a former Green Goods buyer and was responsible for ordering all things green and had the pleasure to travel to California Pack Trials and Europe (Germany IPM Essen and Amsterdam greenhouse/production tours) in her role on the Nurseryland Canada Committee.

As an active member of the Calgary Horticultural Society she continues to volunteer on the editorial team as well as serve on a committee for the Perennial Plant of the Year. Her educational background consists of a Prairie Horticulture Certificate in Greenhouse Crop Production, with honours, from Olds College upgrading with courses in Woody Plant ID and an Organic Master Gardeners Certificate from Gaia College.

She has always been an advocate and practitioner of organic growing and her passion for horticulture has driven her into the field of teaching to share her love of nature and help others increase biodiversity and sustainability in urban landscapes.
